American Legion Baseball is a National Program. 2014 will be the 89th anniversary of the National Program. In 2013, there were more than 5400 teams registered. New Jersey had 129 Senior and Junior Teams.
In 2014, American Legion Baseball is open only to players born on or after January 1st, 1995. In New Jersey, there are two divisions. The Senior program is designed for Players 19 years old and under. The Junior Program is designed for players 17 years old and under.
In 2013, there were 13 leagues in New Jersey - 8 Senior Leagues (19&U), 4 Junior Leagues (17&U), and 1 Sophomore Leagues (15& U).
American Legion Baseball is regulated by both National Rules and State Rules. The leagues are organized and run at the county level by a County Baseball Chairman appointed by the American Legion County Commander.
2014 Baseball Season
Regular local league play starts in late May and must end no later than Friday, July 18th for the Senior Division. The Senior Tournament playoffs, at the District level will start Sunday, July 20th. The State Finals will start Sunday, July 27th. The Regional Tournaments will start August 7th. The Winner from New Jersey will play at Campbell's Field in Camden, NJ. The 2014 World Series will be played at Keeter Staduim in Shelby, North Carolina starting August 13.
